Maharashtra-based auto component manufacturer Precision Camshafts Ltd (PCL) has won a global contract from American multinational automaker Ford Motor Company.

According to the company, the order is for the delivery of circa 8 million camshafts over the life of the programme, which is expected to commence supplies from 2018-19. The aggregate value of this programme over its life time is estimated to be 550 crore, it said.

“The camshafts are to be supplied to their facilities in Spain and China. It also supports the company’s focus in manufacturing and supplying higher value add components and elevates its position from a regional player to become a partner for the support of Global OEM platforms,” the company added.

Incorporated in 1992, Precision Camshafts Ltd is in the business of manufacturing of chilled cast iron camshaft castings and fully machined camshafts ready for assembly. The products are mainly used in the internal combustion engines of leading automobile, stationary and locomotive manufacturers like passenger car engines, tractors, light or heavy commercial vehicles and locomotive engines.
