
L&T Construction Bags Rs 1,521 Cr New Orders
The construction arm of Mumbai-based Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has won orders worth Rs 1,521 crore.
Of the total orders, the heavy civil Infrastructure business of the company, has secured an order worth Rs 1,396 crore.
“A prestigious order has been received from the West Bengal Highway Development Corporation Ltd (WBHDCL) for the construction of a six-lane extra-dosed bridge across the river Hooghly besides existing Iswar Gupta Setu at Kalyani, West Bengal. The project site is 50 km north of Kolkata. The entire length of the project is 21 km which consists of a six-lane extra-dosed bridge of 714m, widening of the existing road corridor into a 4/6 lane divided carriageway and an elevated corridor of about 20km,” L&T said in a statement.
Further, the smart world communication business unit of the company also secured an order worth Rs 125 Crore.
“An order has been received from JAPIT (Jharkhand Agency for Promotion of Information Technology) for the implementation of ‘Jharkhand State Wide Area Network (SWAN) 2.0 – JHARNET 2.0’. The scope involves creation and upgradation of core network infrastructure of JAPIT for supporting e-Governance initiatives, which includes servers, network switches, routers, network management system and integration with other government networks across the state of Jharkhand,” it said.
L&T shares were trading in red at Rs 1,293.50, down 1.02% from the previous closing of Rs 1.306.85, on BSE at 11.14 am today.
