India’s leading wind energy solutions provider Inox Wind Ltd (IWL) has bagged order from NTCP for a 50-MW wind power project to be deployed in Gujarat.

Inox Wind will supply and install 25 units of its advanced 2MW DFIG 100 rotor dia wind turbine generators (WTGs) for NTPC Ltd. According to the company, the 100-rotor dia WTG has one of the highest swept areas that make it ideally suitable to maximize returns especially in low wind areas.

With this new order we will further reinforce our dominant market position in Gujarat. We look forward to strengthening this relationship in the future by augmenting renewable power capacity for NTPC and reducing the nation’s carbon footprint”, said Kailash Tarachandani, chief executive officer in a statement.

Based in Delhi, the State-owned National Thermal Power Corporation is engaged in the construction and operation of power plants. It is the largest power generating company in India (Baa3 positive) with an installed generation capacity of 47,178 megawatts as on May 31, 2016.

IWL is part of the Inox Group of companies which has interests in various businesses including industrial gases, refrigerants, engineering plastics, chemicals, carbon credits, cryogenic engineering, renewable energy and entertainment.

Headquartered in Noida, IWL is a subsidiary of Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd. The company offers its clients total wind power solutions, including resource assessment, acquiring land, developing the entire site infrastructure, building the power evacuation system, supplying the WTGs, erection and commissioning services, long term operations and maintenance services as well as post-commissioning support.

IWL shares surged intraday Tuesday on BSE after the announcement. At 11 am, the shares were trading at Rs. 203.85, up 1.44% from the previous closing of Rs. 209.95.
