IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company (IL&FS Engineering Services) has emerged as the lowest bidder for the development of four projects in the state of West Bengal.

The projects worth Rs 677.8 crore involves two rural electrification (RE) works and two integrated power development works (IPDS) of West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL).

The projects secured by the company are:

1. RE works under DDUGJY :-
a. Package No. 2 for 24 Paraganas North Bidhannagar & 24 Paraganas South for a contract value worth Rs 179.7 crore.
b. Package No. 7 for Paschim Medinipur for a contract value of Rs 176.3 crore.

2. Urban areas under IPDS :-
a. Package No. 6 for Purba Medinipur for a contract value worth Rs 162.2 crore.
b. Package No.10 for 24 Parganas South for a contract value of Rs159.6 crore.

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) is funding the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY)-RE contracts, while Power Financial Corporation (PFC) is funding the IPDS contracts.

Completion is scheduled for 24 months.
