CMI Wins New Rs 33 Cr BHEL Order

Specialty cable company CMI Ltd on Wednesday said that it has been awarded an order worth 32.64 crore from Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), to supply LT XPLE cables.

Commenting on the development, Amit Jain, MD, CMI Ltd, said, “our order book continues to be strong. This order from BHEL confirms our belief that the infrastructure sector in India is on a high growth trajectory. Coming quarters are likely to further witness an uptick in the investment cycle particularly in the core infra sectors like power and railways which augurs well for CMI.”

According to the company, the order will be delivered within the next four and a half months. The cables to be supplied to BHEL will be aluminium armoured cables as well as copper armoured cables, it said.

“Power segment continues to be a focus area for CMI and should contribute around 20.25% revenue to CMI’s topline by 2019. CMI is already a preferred supplier to the big names in the power segment including Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd (GETCO), Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (MVVNL), Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JVVNL), BHEL etc,” the company added.
