CMI Stock Surges on Receiving Rs 31 Cr New Orders

Specialty cables maker CMI Ltd has received new orders valued at a total of Rs 31 crore from east central railway and state-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd.
“CMI Ltd, has received orders from East Central Railway worth Rs 20.69 crore for supply of railway signaling cable and from BHEL worth Rs 9.97 crore for supply of 3.3KV and 11KV power cable, for its Baddi plant,” the company said in a statement.
According to CMI, supply of signaling cables and quad cables to railways contributed 45% to the total revenues of the company in 2016-17.
Shares of the company surged more than 7% to hit a new one-week high of Rs 218.55 on BSE intraday Thursday after the announcement came in. The Rs 10 face value shares closed trading at Rs 213.25, up 6.84% from the previous closing of Rs 199.60.
