BEML bags Rs 645-cr order from Delhi Metro

BEML, a defence public sector undertaking, has bagged an order worth Rs 645 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for design, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning of 74 nos broad guage metro cars for their RS-13 project (Rolling Stock).



H S Anand, Director-Rolling Stock, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, has signed a contract agreement with BEML for the supply of metro coaches in the presence of S S Joshi, Executive Director-RS, Amarendra Kumar, Chief Eletrical Engineer, DMRC, P Dwarkanath, Chairman and Managing Director, Aniruddh Kumar, Director-Rail & Metro, S Prasad, Executive Director, and B L Manjunath, Chief General Manager, BEML, at Bengaluru.



BEML rose 1.83% to Rs 1,241.95 at 9:46 IST on BSE after the company said it has received order worth Rs 645 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.



The announcement was made after market hours yesterday, 10 June 2015.



Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 64.58 points or 0.24% at 26,905.08.



On BSE, so far 26,000 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 1.36 lakh shares in the past two weeks.



The stock hit a high of Rs 1,263 so far during the day, which is a 52-week high for the counter. The stock hit a low of Rs 1,236.80 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 514.75 on 26 August 2014.
