Bajaj Electricals bags new orders worth Rs. 84.54 crore

Shares of Bajaj Electricals Ltd were closed higher 1% at Rs. 281 on BSE today.



The company has bagged 3 new orders from Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd worth Rs. 84.54 crore. The stock opened at Rs. 284 as against the previous close of Rs. 279.25 on BSE.



It has hit a high of Rs. 291.35 and a low of Rs. 281.10 on BSE today. Total traded quantity on the counter stood at over 1.05 lk shares on BSE. On Thursday, the Sensex opened 119 points higher at 26,960, and soon touched a high of 27,000.



The BSE index, however, pared gains and slipped into the negative zone by mid-morning trade on the account of weakness in banking and select index heavyweights. The bears tightened their grip as the day progressed as selling spread across all the sectors. The BSE index plunged to a low of 26,352 - down 648 points in intra-day deals. The Sensex finally ended with a significant loss of 470 points at 26,371. The NSE Nifty slumped to a low of 7,958, and ended with a heavy loss of 159 points at 7,965. In the process, the NSE index has ended below the 8,000-mark for the first time since 27 October, 2014.



The India VIX (Volatility) index rose 4.3 percent to 17.805.
