Two STPs to come up in Indore
The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) have commenced work on setting up two more sewerage treatment plants (STPs) in the city.
The first STP with capacity of 20 mld has been planned in Sirpur area. The work for the same has also been started. Apart from this, work on the second STP proposed at Palasia area has also commenced.
The two STPs have been planned at a cost of Rs 50 crore. The projects are expected to be completed within a year.
A dedicated 10 km long pipeline network has also been planned in Sirpur area to collect sewer from Hawa Bangla, Footi Kothi, Dwarkapuri, Prajapat Nagar, Sai Baba Nagar, Shraddhapuri, Vidur Nagar and nearby colonies.
The new STPs will be an addition in the list of ten STPs including, Rajendra Nagar, Bijalpur, Neher Bhandara, Himmat Nagar, Azad Nagar, CP Shekhar Nagar and Pipliyahana.
