Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) will get a headquarters at Nandanam. The project is likely to be inaugurated in September 2022,

The 12-storey building which will be called Metro Bhavan. CMRL operates 54 km Phase-1 and extension lines and is expanding the Metrorail lines to another 118.9 km in Phase-2.

The existing building in Koyambedu will be used by the depot staff and the operations control centre (OCC) will also continue to work from here.

The new building will house the administrative office of CMRL, at least six floors will be available for property development.

The new headquarters will have facilities including a 6,600 sq ft OCC covering three floors to monitor train operations, 1,345 sq ft conference room, 1,550 sq ft library and a 243-seater auditorium.
