DHL Supply Chain to infuse EUR 500 million in India
DHL Supply Chain will make an investment of EUR 500 million (around Rs 4,000 crore) in India over the next five years to expand its warehousing capacity, workforce and sustainability initiatives.
With this expansion, it will add 12 million sq ft of warehousing space in its existing portfolio to take its total capacity to about 22 million sq ft by 2026.
The company will add this capacity in wholly-owned DHL multi-client sites in key metro cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, NCR and Pune.
Moreover, multi-client sites are being built in the fast-growing state capitals and tier-2 cities like Baddi, Cochin, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Sanand, Indore, Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar, Hosur, and Visakhapatnam, among others.
The company will also open two new business support centers (BSC) in Bengaluru and Pune within the next 12-18 months to support customer demand.
