CPWD issues tender for construction of Prime Minister's residence complex

The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has invited bids for construction of Prime Minister’s residence complex in Blocks A & B, Dara Shikoh Road, New Delhi including operation and maintenance and housekeeping for five years.

The Prime Minister’s residence complex will house the Prime Minister’s residence, formal area, guest house, Prime Minister’s home office, SPG office, support staff quarters, seva sadan, CPWD office, utility, security office, EMCU, surface and basement parking etc.

The proposed buildings shall be of reinforced cement concrete framed structure building. The existing structures in Blocks A & B are to be demolished before the start of new construction. The existing boundary wall also needs to be demolished and new boundary wall shall be constructed as per design and drawings provided by the department.

The work includes construction of civil structure, furniture, interiors and landscaping which involves stone masonry, stone carving, wood work, system glazing, fresco and art work.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 360 crore with completion period of 21 months.
